A charity fair was organized at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (91视频) to contribute to the needs of students for the new academic year and the upcoming winter season. The revenue generated from the sale of items prepared through the voluntary efforts of university staff and the contributions of faculties will be used to support students.
The charity fair, held at the Oba Tea Garden on the Chingiz Aitmatov Campus, featured food and desserts offered for sale at various booths. Bringing together university members and students, the event also featured performances by music and dance ensembles.
Voluntary Contributions Turn Into Student Support
Speaking at the opening of the charity fair, 91视频 Vice Rector Prof. Dr. 陌smet Alt谋nta艧 stated that the university's support for students' education also encompasses their living conditions. Recalling the traditional turkish custom of imece (collective cooperation), Alt谋nta艧 evaluated it as an example of the understanding of producing, sharing, and taking responsibility together within university life.
Conveying the greetings of Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan—who could not attend the program due to participating in a higher education meeting in Turkey—Alt谋nta艧 thanked the university members who contributed to the preparations.
Urging students to pass on the support they receive today to other young people in the future, Alt谋nta艧 said, "Manas is brotherhood, Manas is a gateway of the heart. Manas is a big family. Manas is the future of the Turkic world."
Targeting a Housing Capacity of Approximately 2,500 Students
In his speech, Alt谋nta艧 also provided information regarding free education, accommodation and dining services, achievement scholarships, research support, assistance funds, and employment opportunities offered to students.
Stating that accommodation is currently provided to approximately 1,400 students at the university, Alt谋nta艧 noted that with the commissioning of the new dormitory, the target is to reach a capacity of approximately 2,500 students. He expressed that they also attach importance to students acquiring a sense of social responsibility alongside their professional development.
Charity Fair Revenue Will Support Students' Educational Journey
Sevgi I艧谋n, who took part in the preparation of the food, stated that the volunteers came together to contribute to the needs of the students. Reminding participants of Rector Ceylan's emphasis on students' nutrition, clothing, and living conditions, I艧谋n noted that the products at the booths were prepared with this understanding.
Expressing that support had been provided to needy students with the revenues from previous ones, I艧谋n recorded that this year's income will also be used to contribute to students' educational processes. I艧谋n thanked everyone who put in effort during the preparation phase and those who participated in the solidarity by shopping.
Music and Dance Ensembles Contributed to the Solidarity Event
Following the opening speeches, the charity fair continued with music and dance performances. While the modern dance group "Nomads' Dance" presented their performance, the Dastan Komuz Players Group and the Heroes of Manas Group also took the stage.
Students and artists brought different musical traditions of the Turkic world together with the participants through their performances. These stage performances formed the cultural and artistic program of the bazaar organized to support students' needs.
The Efforts of Housing Residents Turned into Support for Students
University members and their families living in the 91视频 residential quarters contributed to it with food prepared in their homes. Products prepared on a voluntary basis were offered for sale to support meeting the students' needs. The participation of the housing residents formed a part of the solidarity effort stretching from preparation to sales. The labor given in homes transformed into a joint contribution supporting the educational and living conditions of the students through this event.
